||1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.| A good book for the nonspecialist interested in Hawaii's fascinating geology|By shep|This is a somewhat old (1970, revised 1983) text. Plate tectonics and the Hawaii "hot spot" were only becoming accepted at that time!
It's a detailed text with lots of photos, and at first glance looks like a textbook. But it's actually well written for the intelligent lay reader.
