Just be warned: if you are not a student without means, this book is not for you. I can't conceive how, in this age where LaTeX is widespread, such an edition could come to being. The formulae are pathetically written, the fonts are often blurry, the edition is plain cheap. I

This edition has been completely revised to include some 20% of new material. Important recent developments such as the theory of Regge poles are now included. Many problems with solutions have been added to those already contained in the book.
